Note
I spin a wheel to make pottery. Ridding myself of greed, feeling the flow of lines familar to my hands, I feel happy when the trace appears from my shaping of the form, becoming asethetic beauty, of use. I love the still atmosphere from the collection rather than the beauty of a sole piece. I hope my pottery holds the flavors of sorrow and dimness like unconsciously and plainly placed things. - 2015, Namhee Kim
나는 물레를 돌려 그릇을 만든다. 마음의 욕심을 버리고 손에 익숙한 선의 흐름을 느끼며 형태를 만들면서 나오는 흔적이 심미적인 아름다움과 적당한 쓰임을 가질 때 행복을 느낀다. 하나를 바라보는 아름다움보다는, 모여 있을때 느껴지는 고요한 정취를 사랑하며, 심심한 듯, 무심하게 던져진 사물처럼 애잔함과 아스라함이 그릇에 묻어있었으면 한다. - 2015, 김남희
