Note
I wish nature in my works to come into bloom naturally as the order of nature permeates, like it is what it is, rather than to be an ambiguous expression for the representation. My artistic activity serenely opens to the purity and essence of nature rather than competing uproariously. As art is on the boundary between real and surreal, classifying the means of expression became longer meaningful. - 2016, Sangyeoul Kim
나의 자연은 막연한 재현을 위한 표현이 되기보다는 스스로 그러하다는 자연의 이치처럼 스며들 듯이 자연스럽게 피어나기를 원한다. 나의 작업은 소란스럽게 서로 경쟁하기보다는 희거나 고요하게 자연의 순수와 본질을 향해 열려있다. 예술은 현실도 비현실도 아닌 그 경계에 있는 것처럼 표현에 있어서도 그 경계를 구분하는 일은 더 이상 의미 없는 일이 되었다. - 2016, 김상열
